JoyDrive Privacy Policy

JoyDrive is designed to record and help you remember your drives while keeping your driving information under your control.
1. Information JoyDrive processes
When you start or resume a drive, JoyDrive may process location information from your device in order to calculate and display information such as:
- Your recorded route
- Distance travelled
- Current, average and maximum speed
- Drive duration
- Approximate start and end locations
JoyDrive may also store information that you choose to add, including a drive name, notes, purpose, selected vehicle and fuel-related information.
2. How your drive data is stored
JoyDrive stores your drive history locally on your device.
JoyDrive does not operate a server that receives or stores your recorded routes, drive history or vehicle information.
Your locally stored JoyDrive data may be deleted if you uninstall the app, clear the app's storage or lose access to the device. JoyDrive currently does not provide automatic cloud backup.
3. Location access
JoyDrive uses location access only to provide its drive-recording features. Location may continue to be used while an active drive is running and the app is in the background or the screen is turned off.
JoyDrive does not intentionally track your location when no drive is active or paused.
You may disable JoyDrive's location permission through your device settings, but drive recording will not work correctly without it.
4. Notifications and background operation
JoyDrive may display a persistent notification while a drive is active or paused. This allows you to see the current recording status and helps Android keep the drive-recording service operating reliably in the background.
5. Data collection, selling and sharing
JoyDrive does not sell your personal information.
JoyDrive does not share your recorded drive history or routes with the developer or with other JoyDrive users.
JoyDrive does not currently include advertising, user accounts, social features or developer-operated cloud storage.
6. Contacting JoyDrive
JoyDrive allows you to voluntarily open your email app to report a bug, request a feature or contact support.
When you send an email, the information you type into that email is sent to the appropriate JoyDrive mailbox. JoyDrive does not send emails automatically.
Email drafts may include basic technical information such as the JoyDrive version, device model or Android version to help diagnose a problem.
JoyDrive does not automatically attach your route, precise location, drive history or notes to an email.
7. Third-party services
JoyDrive may rely on operating-system services and map or location providers installed on your device to provide location, map and address information.
Those third-party services may process information according to their own privacy policies. JoyDrive does not control their independent data practices.
8. Children's privacy
JoyDrive is not specifically directed toward children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a JoyDrive account or server.
9. Security
Because drive information is stored locally, the security of that information also depends on the security of your device. You should use appropriate device security such as a screen lock where available.
10. Changes to this policy
This privacy policy may be updated when JoyDrive's features or data practices change. For example, the policy would be updated before adding features involving cloud backup, accounts, online route sharing or other forms of external data storage.
Updates will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
